Keeping Active

Our Keeping Active subject encourages a healthy lifestyle that benefits both physical and mental wellbeing, while also promoting the Army Cadet values. All sports in the army are gender-inclusive, ensuring everyone can participate.

The Keeping Active subject within the Army Cadet Syllabus encourages you to take on different levels of physical activity. Each level, from Basic to 3-star, requires your commitment and enthusiasm, but what can you expect from us?

  • Team sports and competitions: You’ll have the opportunity to participate in team sports, such as football, rugby, and various sports events like the Rivalry Sports Cup, at sporting events at local, regional, and national levels. Here, you’ll learn how to communicate efficiently with your teammates, support each other, and respond to pressure.
  • Outdoor adventure challenges: You can participate in outdoor activities like obstacle courses, and endurance challenges, all of which are great for building stamina and resilience.
  • Personal fitness training: You’ll improve your fitness through personal training exercises tailored to all fitness levels. From cardiovascular training to strength-building exercises.
