  • Adaptability: Your ability to respond to unexpected challenges or questions during lessons.
  • Teamwork: Particularly during the Field Training, you’ll be observed for your ability to work collaboratively and support the team.
  • Personal Administration: You’ll be able to demonstrate good personal organisation and discipline, especially in the field.

There are plenty of reasons to become a Senior Cadet Instructor, starting with how enjoyable and rewarding the experience is! Here are some of the key benefits and outcomes we’ve seen in other cadets:

  • Leadership skills: You’ll develop the ability to guide and inspire others and lead by example.
  • Public speaking ability: You’ll gain confidence in addressing groups and presenting information clearly, setting you up for a host of scenarios throughout your life.
  • Teaching skills: You’ll grow to understand how to teach and train others, helping solidify your knowledge and establishing a deeper mastery of subjects.
  • Organisational expertise: You’ll create lesson plans, learn to manage your time, and adapt to unpredictable situations.
  • Future opportunities: Skills gained in SCIC can lead to greater responsibilities within the cadet force and provide a strong foundation for future career or educational pursuits.
