Quest for Quality at ACFA Duke of Edinburgh’s Award conference

27 November 2013

CTC Frimley squeezed over 50 ACF county Duke of Edinburgh’s Award delegates into Marlborough Hall on the weekend of 22-24 November. Together with the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award panel and guests, the event proved to be both popular and essential for those attending the “Quest for Quality” themed conference.

During the weekend Duke of Edinburgh’s Award’s Operations manager Michelle Blackburn presented ACFA General Secretary Brigadier David Short CBE with the 2013 ACFA National Operator’s Licence. Syndicate topics included Working with Dyslexia, Open and Alternative Expeditions, an update from HQ Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Windsor, Facilitation Skills and an eDofE surgery.

General Secretary Brigadier David Short CBE addressed the group and was impressed by the professionalism and range of subjects under discussion. Delegates returned to their counties on the Sunday fully briefed and with renewed vigour for the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award as part of the cadet experience.
