Empowering Cadets, Supporting Their Future
At ACCT UK, we empower young people’s development and help shape brighter futures.
We do this by supporting Army Cadet Units, awarding grants to individual cadets, and backing local initiatives that make a real difference. Our mission is to help ACF Counties build resilience so they can continue delivering life-changing opportunities to young people for generations to come.
We offer grants that open doors for cadets to experience a wide range of activities… from adventurous training to music and sports. We also invest in ACF Adult Volunteers, giving them the resources and training they need to become outstanding youth leaders. Our membership support services are here for everyone in the ACF, whether it’s confidential support for volunteers, insurance cover for accidents and travel issues, or expert legal advice when it’s needed most.
We work closely with the Army’s chain of command to coordinate national training for the non-military aspects of the Army Cadets syllabus. This includes the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, Adventurous Training, music, first aid, and sport. We’re proud to help deliver top-quality courses for ACF Adult Volunteers in all these areas. Thanks to a grant from the Ministry of Defence, we also support the delivery of Piping and Drumming Qualifications, Defence Awarding Organisation, and BTEC-accredited qualifications across the UK.
As the licensed provider for the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, first aid, and music qualifications, we make sure cadets have access to nationally recognised achievements. We’re also behind the scenes, providing resources that enable unforgettable national public performances and ceremonial activities, making sure key cadet moments shine.
With every grant, every training session, and every opportunity, we’re here to help young people and volunteers reach their full potential.
ACCT UK supports and promotes the positive actions of cadets and adult volunteers by recognising and rewarding their contribution to wider society.
The charity runs two award programmes:
The ACCT UK Excellence Awards, recognising the outstanding cadets and adult volunteers of the ACF in fields of sport, first aid, music, Duke of Edinburgh’s Award and Community Service.
ACCT UK’s praiseworthy action award scheme recognises cadets and adult volunteers who give help and assistance in the community, from minor incidents to life-saving situations and other real-life emergencies.
ACCT UK are also proud to support award nominations to other charitable bodies. All nominations for Excellence and Praiseworthy Action are reviewed for other awards including the Royal Humane Society, British Citizen Award, Society for Protection of Life from Fire and League of Mercy.
With the support of ACCT UK, Cadets and Adult Volunteers can access trips, training and activities that would normally be out of reach. For example, overseas trips and adventure training activities such as paddleboarding, skiing or rock climbing.
As an integral part of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Awards (Gold, Silver, & Bronze), cadets have the opportunity to fundraise for ACCT UK.
Help us to…
- Provide more opportunities for young people to explore their passions and develop new skills.
- Make cadet programs available to young people from groups that are usually hard to reach.
- Offer more opportunities for learning experiences in music, sport, first aid and the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.
- Purchase much needed equipment and specialist training packages.
