On Saturday, 17th May, four dedicated instructors from the Army Cadet Force (ACF) took part in the Healthy Minds Awareness Course at Read House, Bicester. Delivered with expertise and enthusiasm by SMI Rob Grant, the session provided invaluable insights into mental health, equipping attendees with the knowledge and confidence to support both cadets and Cadet Force Adult Volunteers (CFAVs).

The course focused on fostering mental resilience, identifying and signposting vital support, and ensuring CFAVs maintain their own wellbeing while assisting others. Through interactive discussions and practical strategies, participants left feeling inspired and ready to create a more supportive environment within their detachments.

Instructors praised the session for its engaging and impactful approach:

️ “A fantastic course that all CFAVs should have. Well delivered, really interactive and a lot of lived experience in the room.”

✨ “This has been an enlightening and informative course—I’d recommend it to everyone!”

“Glad I took the time out to take this course!”

“This is a course everyone should do!”

A heartfelt thank you to SMI Grant for delivering such a meaningful experience. Future sessions promise to further strengthen awareness and wellbeing across the ACF—because looking after yourself and those around you is a mission that matters. Keep an eye out for the next opportunity!
