Certificate for Meritorious Service Recipients

Certificate for Meritorious Service

His Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant is the King's representative in the County. The award of a Lord-Lieutenant's Certificate for Meritorious Service recognises those amongst the Reserve Forces and Cadet community whose performance in service is exceptional.

The Award is used to reward long service of high quality, periods of intense and exceptional output in support of units and to recognise service to the community.

In all cases, recipients must be seen, amongst their peers and within the communities in which they both live and serve, to show outstanding examples of leadership, commitment, innovation and enduring performance in post.

His Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant's Awards are only one step below national honours and as such should be highly valued.

His Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant's Cadets

Each year the top cadets in the County are appointed as Lord-Lieutenant's Cadets.

Cadets, following their investiture, accompany and assist His Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant on various occasions, including Royal Visits and Civic Ceremonies, acting as aide-de-camp to His Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant.

Cadets selected for investiture as His Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant's Cadets therefore become ambassadors for their unit and service. Additionally, they have opportunities to become involved in special occasions within the community, which are not available to others
