Kent Army Cadet Force – Corps of Drums

19 April 2024

  • Kent ACF

The Corps of Drums was successfully established at the end of November 2023, so we are still a very new unit under Kent ACF. We are established with one Corps of Drums detachment in each company area. This will ensure that we are accessible across Kent for any interested cadet or adult volunteer.

No prior experience in music is required at all. Cadets must have passed their “green” Basic star level before signing up. You can still do the “green” cadet activities fully or concentrate on the ‘Core Military Skills’. After one star training, cadets can choose to specialise in music or do both.

The Corps of Drums goes very well hand-in-hand with the Duke of Edinburgh (DofE) Award at all levels for the topics of volunteering, learning new skills to participation in a residential camp.

You can get more information via your Detachment Commander, or if you are external via kentmusic@armymail.mod.uk. We will shortly have information sessions on the Area Training Weekends as well as on Annual Camp.

Although we have started up as a Corps of Drums, our long-term plan is to also have a band. If you have prior experience and interest in this, then register interest on the email above, we need to know if you are a cadet/adult, name, instrument and contact details.
