In April 2021 I was fortunate to be appointed Deputy Commandant for Bedfordshire & Hertfordshire Army Cadet. Having served in my previous County for over 20 years, this was a huge step for me coming away from Essex Army Cadets and taking a tenure to serve the County where I was raised as a child (Hertfordshire). I was so thankful that many of you welcomed me with open arms and made me feel at home. I have been blessed to work with such a wonderful and capable team of CFAV’s and inspiring cadets throughout my time with the County. I hope that some of you feel that I may have impacted your ACF journey and it has been my privilege to serve for and with you all.

I am immensely proud to have been able to watch so many fine CFAV’s embark on their commissioning journey and I know we have started laying the foundations for the future Senior Leadership Team of the County. I want to thank the CEO for his guidance and support over these years and to his wonderful PSS and administration team, without whom the County would not flourish without. I also want to thank each and every one of you for continuing to achieve our motto every day of ‘to inspire, to achieve’. You are what makes this County great and the difference you make to our young people should never be underestimated. This is not goodbye but more farewell to the Beds & Herts ACF family as I move on to new ventures within the organisation. I leave you with the motto I used for many years as a Detachment Commander and then Company Commander “We may be strong as individuals, but as a team, we are invincible”. Continue your great work and I look forward to seeing many more successes in the future.
