Thursday 7th March saw 42 cadets embark on their first milestone with the Army Cadet Force by attending the Sword Company Enrolment Ceremony.
Watched by their proud family they gave the cadet promise, followed by being presented with their beret and cap badge.
Capt Andy Skiffington, 7 Rifles PSAO for Swindon Army Reserve Centre, presented the Rifles badged cadets, and Cadets who are badged The Royal Wessex Yeomanry were presented by Wiltshire ACF Commandant, Colonel Britt Haggerty.
Our newest cadets were given a talk from other cadets on what to expect at each cadre level and shared some of their experiences so far. It was a daunting task considering the audience was 100+.
There were also talks from Sword Company OC Major Tim Stokes and CSM Jo Hearn.
CSM Hearn spoke about the CFAVs experience, followed by why and how we are raising funds for the Army Cadets Charitable Trust (ACCT UK)
Maj Tim Stokes also presented two cadets with an OCs Commendation and a new county award to show appreciation for cadets who exceed our core values.
Throughout the evening Col Haggerty also present four new Cadet Force Adult Volunteers with their Sergeant stripes after completing the Safe Person Training Assessment (SPTA)
Padre Jo Reid spoke to our cadets and explained the role of Padres within the ACF. Followed by Col Haggerty who spoke to our cadets and their families.
