Day 2 of Annual Camp 2023

24 August 2023

  • Greater Manchester ACF

SMI Debbie Callaghan, County Media Officer

Day 2 of Annual Camp was full of activities that kept cadets engaged and excited. This included the cadet promotions. 'Celebrating Cadet Achievements in Leadership'

The training was Shooting, Skill at Arms, DCCT (Dismounted Close Combat Trainer), and Fieldcraft. Soldiers from the Fifth Fusiliers (Army Reserve) and the Manchester and Salford University Officer Training Corps (UOTC) were on hand to provide their expertise in the Fieldcraft training, enriching the experience for the cadets.

Our Commandant, Col Catherine Harrison, went out onto the area in the early evening (and stayed until late) to see the cadets and staff training. All will be staying out overnight in bashars. Col Harrison spoke with lots of the cadets and staff whilst walking over the vast training area.

Other activities taking place today was Adventurous Training, Mountain Biking, High Ropes and Canoeing. I plan to go out to these areas on Day 3. Pictures of this will follow.
