Nominate a cadet for the Matthew Bacon Bursary today! If successful your cadet will take part in a 19-day course including a wide range of adventurous training and challenge pursuits activities, based at the Outward Bound Centres at Ullswater in the Lake District, Aberdovey in central Wales or Loch Eil, near Fort William in the Scottish Highlands.
This is a highly adventurous course featuring climbing, canoeing, gorge walking etc, plus two separate expeditions, the second one being self-led. There is a high level of action planning and goal setting, with a number of 1:1’s with the instructors. The course is designed with all experience levels in mind and is suitable for candidates of all levels.
The full cost of the course is £1,999; The terms of the Matthew Bacon Bursary require a personal contribution as well as funding from the bursary itself, the personal contribution of bursary recipients will be £260.
Sucessful candidates will need support to raise the remaining funds and it is a great opportunity for the detachment to rally-round and get stuck in.
