Further information about JCIC
Firstly, and most importantly, you’ll need to have completed your 2-Star training with the ACF or the CCF Section-specific Training Syllabi. This isn’t a course you can pass or fail, instead, we’re looking at how we can constructively improve your leadership skills.
Here are some of the things we’ll be assessing:
- Confidence: Possessing self-confidence and displaying that to other cadets is an important part of being a leader. We’ll be helping you build the courage and resilience needed to become an inspirational leader.
- Subject Understanding: Throughout your time with the Army Cadets, you’ll have learnt a lot and the best way to check you’ve understood all the knowledge is to have a go at teaching someone else. Here, you’ll not only be helping Junior Cadets understand the Syllabus, but you’ll be enriching your knowledge too.
- Organisation: Creating lesson plans that make sense from an organisational perspective is key to engaging participants. We’ll be looking at how well you can plan your lessons and stick to it.
-
- Refresh your knowledge: Revisiting and sharing your skills helps reinforce your expertise, keeping you sharp and up-to-date.
- Boost your confidence: Teaching cadets is a rewarding way to strengthen your self-confidence and leadership abilities.
- Inspire cadets: As a cadet instructor, you have a unique opportunity to leave a positive, lasting impact on younger cadets.
- Develop transferable skills: Gain valuable skills in communication, organisation, adaptability, and managing pressure – abilities that will benefit you both personally and professionally in later life.
