Insta Takeover

This week we were joined by LCpl Fern Davies from the Royal Logistics. It was a great session and we hope those of you who tuned in, enjoyed it as much as we all did.

Next week we will be joined by WO1 (SEAC) Glenn J Haughton OBE, so make sure you get your thinking caps on and come-up with some great questions.

As always, our fantastic Cadets and CFAV’s have been busy, doing some, well super-awesome stuff to be honest. Too much for this little update, but here’s a snapshot of what’s been happening.

Promotion time

Congratulations to SSI Sean Fitzpatrick from Essex ACF who was promoted to SSI as 21C of Colchester Detachment. And who better to present him with his promotion than his daughter, Cadet Fitzpatrick. Great job, well done!

Great achievement

Cdt M Abubaker and Cdt McSorley from Penketh Detachment, Cheshire ACF have passed their Basic Star Level. All done virtually. Well done to you both!

Values and standards session

SMI Urquhart held a values and standards session with CTT Scotland, making use of the online “breakout rooms” to allow Cadets to work in small groups. Great to see online resources being put to such good use.

Virtual Walking Challenge

Big shout-out to Cadets, CFAV’s and Parents from across the 7 South West Counties, who, throughout June, took part in a virtual walking challenge to raise money to send Cadets on Ex Kenyan Cub 2021.

Regimental Band, Black Watch ACF

Well done to the Regimental Band who have been raising funds to attend the Military Tattoo in Canada in 2021. They’re doing this by covering the distance from their Band room in Dunfermline, Fife to the Cadet Training Centre in Vernon.

Solo Salute

Congratulations to Cadet Leiper from Berwick Detachment, Northumbria ACF, who received a Colonel’s Coin for his solo salute to Commemorate DDay 76. Great photo, really moving, well done!
