Six ACF adult volunteers have been been granted state honours by Her Majesty The Queen in the annual New Year Honours List.

Huge congratulations go to Colonel David Kane and Captain Kim Elizabeth Humberstone, who have all been appointed as an Officers of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) as well as Lt Colonel Joanne Eccles who has been awarded Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (MBE) and also to Captain Bryan Catchpole, Sergeant Major John McMaster and Staff Sergeant Mark Sanders, whom has been awarded the British Empire Medal (BEM).

''it is all a little surreal at the moment however it is a great privilege and honour to be recognised within the New Years honours. This would not have been possible without the amazing team I have around me in Lancashire ACF. They help me push the boundaries to provide our cadets with an amazing experience.

My current role in Lancashire is Dep Commandant in charge of cadets and cadet training. My aim is to provide the cadets with opportunities that they would not normally have and enhance their CV with recognised qualifications and experiences for future employment.'

Lt Colonel J Eccles OBE - Deputy Commandant Lancashire ACF
