Congratulation to SI Dickinson (Humberside Band) on his appointment as County Drum Major. He was appointed on Thursday 20th April and presented with the the Drum Major Rank Slide by Colonel Fred Owen, Commandant.
We would like to thank SI Dickinson for his hard work and dedication to the unit and to congratulate him on his appointment. He has achieved this by completing the Drum Major qualification at national music camp last year along with his regular training as a RLC drummer.
We look forward to him training, our cadets in on the skills required to be a drum major within the cadet force. The aim is to prepare one of our cadets to be appointed as the National Drum Major for Cadet Force Music. This appointment is made once a year at the National Music camp.
We are looking for cadets who are 4 star drill qualified and interested in working with the Band and in developing skills as a Cadet Drum Major
We are also currently recruiting existing or new cadets who can play an instrument and would like to be involved in Cadet Forces Music. You can earn specialised Music stars awards and tuition and instruments can be provided. This is achieved by attending additional music weekends and the National music events and camps. You don't have to be at a music detachment to take part.
