Last Thursday evening, Ticknall detachment were visited by RSM Rollisson and Honorary Colonel Leigh Timmis on their parade night. They viewed Basic training cadets learning the Badges of Rank; One Star training cadets learning Indication of Targets; and Two Star training cadets learning History of the Mercian Regiment. Staff and cadets had the opportunity to speak with the visitors and share their experiences of cadet life.

Col Timmis then took his seat at the Officer’s table during a lesson on Feeding in the Field. He was served an ‘officer’s ration pack’ of luxury items much to the dismay of the cadets! However, it was revealed to them that officers eat from the same ration packs as the ordinary ranks!

The evening’s final parade featured Col Timmis & RSM Rollisson thanking Detachment Commander Lt Thomas, Adult Instructors & cadets for their hospitality. They also had words of advice in order to get the best out of their cadet careers.
