Each year Bolton Council hold a Remembrance Concert in November to raise funds for Bolton Cadet Forces. The Army Cadets, The Sea Cadets and the Air Cadets.
The cadets and staff attend on the evening to help sell brochures and flags on the night. The cadets are also tasked with escorting VIPs, this includes The Mayor and Senior Police Officers, to show them to their seats.
On the night, the cadets provided standard bearers alongside veterans whilst The Last Post was played. They also enjoyed the concert for the evening before falling back in at the end of the night to provide a guard whilst the guest departed. And very smart they was!
The money raised was recently presented by The Mayor of Bolton, Councillor Akhtar Zaman, to 2Lt Michelle Maunder of Bolton (RA) Detachment, No 5 (Anzio) Company. The total amount raised was £530 for each of the cadet services, which includes money from tickets sold before the evening as well as on the night.
Thank you to the great people of Bolton who attended the concert and helped raise the money for the cadets. Much needed equipment will be bought by the Army Cadets.
