Successful Spring Camp at Barry Buddon Despite Adverse Weather Conditions

The recent one-week Spring Camp held by the battalion at Barry Buddon proved to be a resounding success despite facing inclement weather conditions. The event saw enthusiastic participation from cadets, who engaged in a diverse array of activities throughout the week.

From Fieldcraft and Shooting to Skill at Arms and First Aid, Cadets immersed themselves in practical learning experiences aimed at honing their skills and knowledge. Additionally, they delved into the intricacies of CIS (Signals), undertook Duke of Edinburgh's Expeditions, perfected their Drill, and the Recruits visited the Broughty Ferry Lifeboat Station for a firsthand understanding of the operations of the RNLI, contributing to community engagement initiatives.

Despite challenging weather conditions, including rain and wind, the cadets exhibited remarkable resilience and dedication throughout the camp. Their commitment to learning and development remained unwavering, earning praise from the Honorary Colonel during the concluding events of the week.

The culminating events of the camp featured a Prize Giving ceremony and Promotions, presided over by the Honorary Colonel. Addressing the cadets, he commended their perseverance and lauded their efforts in making the camp a success despite the adverse weather conditions. He emphasised the importance of resilience and adaptability, qualities that are integral to their growth as individuals and leaders.
