A special visitor at summer camp
Monday saw Wrexham MP Sarah Atherton visit Albuhera Companies summer camp in Kinmel Park Camp. Sarah took time to chat to the cadets and staff and was able to observe the final phases of the fieldcraft exercise, even becoming the hostage being rescued by the cadets.
Sarah, who is an Army veteran and a member of the Defence Select Committee, said she “welcomed the opportunity, not only as the local MP but also as a member of the Armed Forces Parliamentary Scheme to visit the first of the Clwyd and Gwynedd summer camps and meet up with some local Wrexham cadets. It was great to see the next generation of our Armed Forces and how they are inspired by our military. The skills the cadets have learnt will set them up for life, whatever career they choose.”
Commandant Col Martin L Craven said “it was a pleasure to welcome Sarah to our camp and to be able to highlight what the Army Cadets has to offer. Despite the many ongoing restrictions, we were able to show why annual camp is so popular with cadets.”
All cadet activities are conducted under Army Cadet COVID-19 guidance
