Sergeant Major Instructor Colin Warsap
Lord-Lieutenants Award for Meritorious Service
Sergeant Major Instructor Colin Warsap joined Greater Manchester Army Cadet Force in 1988 as a Sergeant Instructor having previously served in the Regular Army as an infantry soldier. Since joining the Army Cadet Force he has served as a Detachment Commander at Reddish on several occasions.
On promotion to staff Sergeant Instructor, he was appointed Company Quartermaster Sergeant, a position he held for several years. Wishing to offer greater opportunities to the cadets and not resting on his laurels, Sergeant Major Instructor Warsap took the decision to upskill on aspects of the training syllabus and completed a number of range courses. With these new skills he has regularly supervised ranges on behalf of the company for many years.
In 2006, Sergeant Major Instructor Warsap achieved promotion to his current rank and continued to offer support across No 3 (Somme) Company area, as well as his detachment rolls. He has all also been asked and undertaken the role of Company Sergeant Major during a number of annual camps. He has also assisted with the Senior Cadet Training Company (Waterloo) on weekend activities offering practical support.
For over 33 years of serving as an adult volunteer with the Army Cadet Force, Sergeant Major Instructor Warsap continues to offer help and support to his peers as well as being a well-respected member of staff to the cadets.
