Royton Detachment, had the privilege to host three Royton Councillors – Cllr Dave Arnott, Cllr Christine Adams and Cllr Lewis Quigg who presented a generous donation of £400 to the detachment.

The councillors have a specific fund which they can use for local organisations, including the Army Cadets. We are very grateful they chose us. Councillor Arnott is an Army Veteran and both he and Cllr Quigg are members of the Royton Branch of the Royal British Legion.

The money donated by the Councillors, will be used to buy equipment for the detachment to ensure that the Cadets have the best equipment possible for their training.

The cheque was presented to Cadet LCpl Morgan by Cllr Dave Arnott, alongside Cllr Christine Adams and Cllr Lewis Quigg. Whilst visiting the detachment all three Cllr’s took part in some basic Fieldcraft training, to sample what the cadets get involved in.

The Detachment Staff and Cadets sends our thanks to the Councillors for their generous donation to the Detachment. Their invaluable contribution will allow us to purchase new equipment which will significantly enhance the training experience for the cadets at Royton Detachment.
