Remembrance Sunday 2023

Cadets and staff from across Greater Manchester ACF take part in Remembrance Parades

Remembrance Sunday 2023

  • Greater Manchester ACF

SMI Debbie Callaghan, County Media Officer

On Remembrance Sunday, cadets and staff from Greater Manchester ACF participated in Remembrance Parades held across Greater Manchester. These parades serve as a tribute to honour and remember the sacrifices not only of past generations but also acknowledging those who served in modern-day conflicts.

The parades, organised across Greater Manchester, provides a meaningful time for the cadets and staff to stand in unity with the community and pay their respects.

Our Commandant, Col Paul Smillie said "I couldn't be prouder of our incredible cadets and dedicated staff taking part in Remembrance Parades today. Their commitment to honouring and remembering those who have sacrificed so much is truly commendable. Today, as we stand united in remembrance, I am deeply grateful for the respect and honour they bring to this solemn occasion. Well done to each and every one of you!"

'They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.'
