Remembrance and Respect - Across the Generations

Although most events to commemorate and remember D-Day were cancelled this year due to the current restrictions, many still took the time to pay their own personal respects and to pause in reflection for those who gave so much.

Remembrance and Respect - Across the Generations

One such youngster was Cadet Wendy Dally from Raglan Barracks Detachment, who took time out to lay a wreath with comrades from 3RHA alongside her grandad. Dennis John Samuel, now 82 years old, was born in 1939. He served with the 3rd Royal Horse Artillery F Troop, followed by RA TA, then the Royal Regiment of Wales before the Home Service Force. Dennis was also the Tipper Drummer the Band and Drums. He meets up with his fellow veterans from the 3rd RHA each year in London for the Remembrance Parade and also represents his regiment at other parades during the year. The laying of this wreath was very poignant for both Wendy and her grandad, as they attended together.
