Dan had been a member of Hampshire and Isle of Wight Army Cadet Force for 8 years having joined Eastleigh Platoon as a 12 year old cadet, before becoming one our first staff cadets at 18 and more recently a Cadet Force Adult Volunteer (CFAV).
Dan was always positive and cheerful and could lift the spirits of those around him. He took part in nearly every activity achieving Master Cadet the highest cadet qualification available as well as completing leadership training and the Duke of Edinburgh Award. Dan was always one of the first to volunteer and represented his Company at shooting, swimming, military skills competitions, rugby and football. He went on to represent the County in the Brigade Military Skills competition, shooting, rugby and football. He assisted with many community events with his last event being on parade in Southampton on Remembrance Sunday.
We are thankful to have been able to be a part of Dan’s life as he has matured into a responsible adult, he will especially be remembered for his sense of humour and willingness to help others. Dan will be sorely missed by us all in Hampshire and Isle of Wight ACF. Our condolences go to his family and friends.
