Colleen started her journey in April 2010.

Colleen has exemplified the true spirit of selflessness and leadership within the Cross Hands Detachment and as the DofE officer for G Company.

Colleen's enthusiasm for nurturing the potential of both cadets and adults is nothing short of infectious. Her positive attitude and her ability to tackle any challenge with a smile are truly remarkable. Colleen's dedication extends beyond her ACF duties, as she balances the responsibilities of being a single mother of three, a grandmother, and a caregiver to her autistic son and elderly parents. Her ability to manage these commitments while continuing to serve the Army Cadets demonstrates her unparalleled commitment.

Colleen has been a tireless advocate for the Cadets within the community. She has actively participated in events such as the Big Day Out, Ammanford Boar Festival, and Emergency Service Day, showcasing the Army Cadet’s values and principles to a wider audience. She has also played a pivotal role in fundraising initiatives, including the Poppy Appeal, and organized events like "Beating the Bounds" to raise funds for essential DofE equipment.

Recently, Colleen had the pleasure to attend the first ever King’s Birthday parade. She was nominated by a fellow volunteer, and was amongst over 500 nominations from the Army Cadets. Thanks to the generosity of the Army Cadets Charitable Trust, who only selected 5 winners and provided them with the tickets and an all expenses paid trip to London. It was a proud moment for Colleen to witness the historic Birthday Parade.

An Ex Cadet of Colleen’s recently wrote to her, thanking her for all the support she provided him during his time in the Army Cadets, as he embarked on his British Army Commissioning course at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst to become an Officer in the Corps of Engineers.

Colleen's support has empowered countless cadets and adults, instilling in them confidence and strength that lasts well beyond their time with the Army Cadets. She is a true embodiment of our Values and Standards, and her contributions have undoubtedly enriched the Army Cadets.
