With the first in-person adult training day in the run-up to a return to cadet training, the Commandant Col Martin L Craven was at last able to present a Commander 160th (Welsh) Brigade Coin for Excellence to Instructor and Rossett Detachment Commander SSI Chalky White.
Col Martin said “During the lockdown, SSI White displayed the characteristics that make me proud to be a member of the Army Cadet Force. Despite personal health issues, his determination to carry on and provide support to the young people of North Wales was inspiring. He truly deserved this award.”
Albuhera Company Sergeant Major Barrie Reid posted “It was great to see Chalky receive an award for all his funny and entertaining videos he created during the lockdown last year. I sure your all aware of the hard work he has put in to help keep all entertained during lockdown - all this whilst recovering from illness. I'm sure he will say it’s helped him out getting back on his feet by interacting with everyone on zoom. And thank you to Mrs Patricia Ann Jones-White for putting up with the world's oldest teenager”
