18 cadets and 4 CFAVs attended to support the event which saw the High Sheriff of Cambridgeshire, Jennifer Crompton, read the official Proclamation of the new King, following the tragic passing of our longest serving monarch, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

Also in attendance was the official representative of the King, Lord Lieutenant of Cambridgeshire Mrs Julie Spence who led the service to give three cheers for the King.

Leader of Peterborough City Council, Councillor Wayne Fitzgerald, said “It was great that we could depend on the support of the Army Cadet Force to help us to mark this solemn but special event. They all acted with the grace and professionalism that would be expected of Regular members of HM Armed Forces and they were a credit to the organisation”.
