Between 29th May and 2nd June 2023, 33 Norfolk Cadets with supporting adults took part in a Battlefield Tour to Dunkirk. The tour was led by a military historian and over the 5 days the cadets followed the route taken by the soldiers of the Royal Norfolk Regiment. The cadets visited Arras, the Canadian Memorial at Vimy Ridge and the village of La Paradis where 97 Norfolk Regiment soldiers were murdered by SS troops in 1940. The tour then concluded with visiting the Dunkirk Museum and Dover Castle where Operation Dynamo was planned.
Overall the cadets and adults had a really good time learning about the evacuation of Dunkirk and remembering the realities and atrocities of war.
