2 Highlanders Inverurie Detachment had the pleasure of hosting Mr Alexander Philip Manson Lord Lieutenant of Aberdeenshire. The Lord Lieutenant was present to perform the inauguration ceremony of the Lord Lieutenant Cadet Corporal Stella Walker. The Lord Lieutenant’s Cadet is seen as an aide and representative to the Lord Lieutenant in each lieutenancy area. The cadet is selected and appointed based on their participation and achievements within their detachment and is seen as one of the highest achievements in the Cadet Forces.While the Lord Lieutenant was present he presented Sergeant Major Instructor Kieran Walker with his Cadet Force Medal marking 12 years service to the Army Cadet Force and marked the promotion to Major of Captain Steve McIntosh with the presentation of his new rank slide.After all the formalities were over The Lord Lieutenant spent some time chatting to the cadets and Adult Volunteers who were present. At the end of the evening the Lord Lieutenant was piped out of the car park in true highland style.
