NATIONAL VOLUNTEERS’ WEEK 2021

3 June 2021

We continue highlighting the fantastic work our amazing Cadet Force Adult Volunteers (CFAVs) during National Volunteers’ Week.

Sergeant Major Instructor (SMI) Carl Hopkins originally joined the Lancashire Army Cadet Force in 1983 reaching the rank of Cadet Sergeant in1989.

It was an easy decision to become a CFAV at the age of 18 to help as many cadets as possible to achieve their true potential. “It’s fair to say that my life was sending me on path that could have sent me to prison, the cadets helped me to stay on the straight and narrow!” said Carl.

Since then, Carl has taken every opportunity completing as many courses as possible including his favourite subject Skill at Arms. “Everything I have been taught in the Cadets help me to build the confidence of my cadets and instil self-respect” said Carl
