Natalie Dixon is the Commander of B Company's Lumley Detachment, but it
is in her capacity as the Regional Healthy Minds Advisor, for 4 Light
Brigade Combat Team and Headquarters North East, that she is encouraging
as many members of our County to take part in the 'March in March'
project.
The project is a way of focusing on healthy minds at this early stage of the year, and all cadets and CFAVs are encouraged to participate. You can complete your miles at any time in March and can personalise the challenge, e.g. walk 10 miles in one day, or spread it across the month.
She says: "Taking part in 'March in March' will promote healthy minds by:
* Connecting with other - Come join the team
* Being active - One 10 Mile walk or walks which add to 10 Miles
* Learning - Learning about what the veterans' charity 'Combat Stress' can do
* Giving - Supporting the fantastic work of ‘Combat Stress’ through fundraising or publicity
* Taking Notice - The impact that a group of people can have."
Lt Dixon is leading by example - she is taking part in FOUR walks this month, to represent the 1 in 4 people who experience mental health struggles each year.
She adds: "The ACF has an excellent history of promoting good mental health. As members of the military family, we would also like to support Armed Forces veterans, and help them to access support. All cadets and CFAVs are welcome to join the team and complete their own walks. (In addition, the adults are welcome to join the group walk activity.) Any form of support is welcome, from joining the team, to donating, to sharing the pages as widely as we possible can. Everything is appreciated!"
