On Thursday 25th January 2024, The Lord Lieutenant of West Glamorgan Awards were held at John Chard VC House in Swansea.

During the evening, a number of Certificate of Merits were presented to various individuals from the Reserves and Cadets Forces by HM's Lord Lieutenant, Mrs Louise Fleet CStJ. The event was hosted by the Reserve Forces and Cadet Association (RFCA) Wales.

Our very own, Sergeant Major Instructor. Callum Williams was one of the recipients of this certificate.

Sergeant Major Instructor Callum Williams is the Company Sergeant Major for B Company in the Dyfed and Glamorgan Army Cadet Force, Callum has demonstrated unwavering dedication and exceptional leadership throughout his tenure.

Callum is a Senior Site Operative for the University of Wales, Trinity Saint David. He lives in Cwmbwrla, Swansea with his partner, Becca.

Callum's journey with the Army Cadet Force began in October 2016, and from the outset, his commitment to the organisation has been truly remarkable. His progression from a dedicated cadet, where he achieved the very rare accolade of being appointed as a Cadet Under Officer, to a passionate Cadet Force Adult Volunteer in April 2017 is a testament to his dedication and enthusiasm for the Army Cadets.

One of Callum's most outstanding qualities is his ability to lead and inspire others. He has risen through the ranks swiftly and now holds the esteemed position of Company Sergeant Major. In this role, he has taken on the crucial responsibility of developing and mentoring other Adult Volunteers, leaving an indelible mark on the organisation's growth.

Callum's exemplary communication skills came to the forefront during the challenging times of the Covid-19 pandemic. During lockdowns, he tirelessly worked to ensure that cadets and Adult Volunteers remained engaged with the Army Cadets by delivering captivating online content. Callum truly kept the flame of enthusiasm and commitment burning brightly during this difficult period.

Furthermore, Callum's advocacy for personal growth and development is evident in his role as the Area's Duke of Edinburgh's Awards Officer. He passionately promotes the Award and ensures that cadets and young adults benefit from the invaluable experiences it offers.

Sergeant Major Instructor Callum Williams has already contributed significantly to the Army Cadets, yet his potential to make a positive impact remains boundless. He embodies the spirit of selfless service, leadership, and dedication that this Certificate of Merit represents.

Callum is a true asset to the Army Cadet Force and a shining example of commitment and excellence.
