During a brief respite from the intense competition at the All Wales Cadet Skill at Arms Competition, a heart-warming surprise awaited the cadets. Soldiers from the renowned US 82nd Airborne Division, hailing from Fort Bragg, North Carolina, paid a friendly visit to the cadets in Sennybridge, leaving an indelible mark on the young minds.

Martyna Matysiak, a member of the Deeside Detachment, shared, "Tonight during nafi, a group of us from the CADSAAM competition had the privilege of conversing with some American soldiers from the 82nd Airborne Division, currently training at Sennybridge. They were incredibly amiable, freely sharing their badges and engaging us in conversations about both the British and American armies. They were remarkably approachable, and I'm immensely grateful for this extraordinary experience."

Evan Smith from Mold Detachment echoed Martyna's sentiments, saying, "This evening, I had the opportunity to engage with the 82nd Airborne. The American soldiers were not only nice but also highly approachable. We delved into discussions about the military in both the UK and the US and exchanged stories about life in our respective countries. We even captured the moment with photographs and received their tactical recognition flashes. It was an exceptional experience that I never imagined being a part of."

This unexpected encounter between aspiring cadets and seasoned soldiers exemplifies the camaraderie that transcends borders and underscores the enduring spirit of cooperation in the global military community.
