North Wales Police, in partnership with the North Wales Fire and Rescue Service, launched #OpBangChallenge – an opportunity for young people to complete a project to better their community in some way. Penygroes cadets decided to have a go.

Detachment Commander Jess Pugh explains “the cadets worked extremely hard as a team by filling empty bottles with dog poo bags and then putting them up around Penygroes for dog walkers to be able to grab a few while out and about in the village. We were delighted to hear we had been awarded a prize for our efforts. Last week PC Melanie Cartledge-Davis, North Wales Police’s Youth Engagement, and Intervention Officer, and some other members of the team came to present the detachment with their prize of £250”

A big well done to the Penygroes detachment members who now need to think about the next community group project.
