It is with great pleasure that GLSESACF are able to announce the promotion of our newest officer; tonight AUO Smith became 2Lt Smith following promotion by the new Commandant Lt Col Matthew Davis.

Kevin undertook the intensive one day CFCB at Tidworth Barracks in Wiltshire last Saturday and learnt of his well-deserved success by post yesterday, ending what all of us officers know is an anxious few days wait! Kevin's achievement is all the more notable as the normal weekend long course at Westbury has been condensed to enable CFAVs to commission on a non-residential course. The pressure of the course is just the same, however!

2Lt Smith is a much-valued member of staff at Greater London South East Sector, following many excellent years in the organisation he is currently Detachment Commander of 109 Belvedere (Royal Artillery) Detachment where his son and daughter are key members of his cadet team. He is also the 10 Company First Aid Officer and following the return to Face to Face training, he has been helping out at a number of other cadet units across Bexley and Bromley.

We salute out newest addition to the Officer's Mess here at sector as well as join together to celebrate one of our friends and colleagues in his achievement following this difficult year. Onwards and upwards!

"I thoroughly enjoyed the course and the experience!" 2Lt Kevin Smith
