To mark the 40th anniversary of the Falklands War, Dover Detachment invited former Royal Marine John Short to speak to the cadets. John Short was with the Royal Marines Band in Deal when the war broke out. He has written a book about his experiences called “The Band That Went To War”. PI Laidlow-Petersen said: “It was great to see how interested the cadets were. They really enjoyed the talk.”
