Day 5 on Derbyshire Army Cadet Force's Annual Camp.
D & A Company
D & A Company had a very successful first day of Adventurous Training. They tackled various activities and although the cadets were nervous to begin with, they returned from their day full of confidence and excitement on their day! This year on AT Day, we provided the cadets to have opportunities to rock climb and abseil over the cliffs by the coast, have a go at coasteering, mountain biking, laser clay shooting, tag archery, archery and air rifle shooting.
B Company
The B Company cadets and their Adult Volunteers deployed to the field ready for their field exercise today. They were all in good spirits and were ready to stop out overnight under bashas in their harbour area. The cadets were busy setting up their bashas and applying cam cream ready to blend into the training area.
C Company
C Company completed their navigation day. In the morning, the cadets received navigation lessons including learning how to interpret and orientate a map, including using grid references. In the afternoon, some cadets were tasked with finding various checkpoints within camp and other cadets went out onto the training area to put into practise what they had learnt in the morning.
Senior Cadre
Although tired, the Senior Cadre trooped on for the last full day on field exercise. 2Lt Rollisson said the senior cadets were beginning to tire, however were still in good spirits and looking forward to their fieldcraft exercise on the beach. The cadets received their orders from the staff and were soon ready to put them into practise and were soon under their bashas ready for an early morning start! A huge thankyou to the 7X Brigade Cadet Training Team who worked with senior cadre this week to help plan and deliver the training to the cadets to get the most out of the experience.
All around, another great day on Annual Camp.
