Another busy, busy day on Annual Camp today. Have a read through all of the activities that the cadets and adult volunteers got up to!
D and A Company
After spending the night in the field under bashas, and completing their fieldcraft lessons, D and A Company returned from their field exercise and marched back into camp spectacularly, marching alongside our very own Derbyshire ACF band. It was definitely a moment to remember!
Training in camp was on the agenda today, allowing lots of opportunities to train further on the Army Cadet Syllabus (ACS). The cadets got to shoot the Air Rifle on the range, with many using the weapon for the first time! The cadets shot from kneeling and sitting positions, aiming at the target carefully to ensure their grouping sizes were spot on! Cadets also had the experience of paintballing at targets, which they thought was great fun. The 2 Star Cadre were busy learning all things CIS and learning how to use the radio systems correctly. There was even some time for command tasks which completely perplexed the cadets.
C Company had a great time on their Adventurous Training Day. We have offered the cadets so many opportunities this year. Activities this year include coasteering, climbing, abseiling, mountain biking and tag archery! The cadets all loved it and were engaged in all the activities offered.
Eagle Cadre have been busy fieldcraft training on their exercise since Tuesday when they deployed out to the field. They are busy preparing for their final phase of their field exercise tomorrow morning and they will then march back into camp ready for a shower!!
Overall another great day that was planned for them!
A huge thanks to all of the adult volunteers that make this possible and provide opportunities to the cadets.
