Day 8 of Annual Camp - Waterloo Company

30 August 2023

  • Greater Manchester ACF

SMI Debbie Callaghan, County Media Officer

Fieldcraft is a skill taught to all cadets at different atar levels. Waterloo Company delivered a three-day Fieldcraft package to the senior cadets from the County. This was an excellent opportunity for cadets to develop their skills in Fieldcraft.

The cadets set up bashers where they stayed out for 2 nights.

Fieldcraft training is challenging where cadets learn many skills which includes how to work together as a team, communicate effectively, and solve problems. These skills will serve them well in their future careers.

The third day is the final day before the cadets return into camp. Before packing up their bashers and other equipment, a section Battle Drill was run through and practiced. The Section Battle Drill was a huge success where all the cadets took part.

Thank you to Junior Under Officer Sam Durnham and Juniopr Under Officer Chris Parr from Manchester & Salford UOTC. Their help with the Section Battle Drill was invaluable.
