Day 2 - Annual Camp - No 3 (Somme) Company

Day 2 got off to a great start thanks the adult volunteers being very organised.

After the cadets had eaten a cooked breakfast and or cereal, the cadets went off to collect waterproofs, water bottles, maps and compasses for the day ahead, to help them navigate their way across the area designated for the day.

The rain poured and the sun shined but nothing dampened the spirits of the cadets and staff.

On return to camp and getting dried off, the cadets used the STEM kits. (Science, Engineering, Engineering and Maths). The staff member who sent the pictures named the items built as chariots. All cadets enjoyed themselves using the STEM kits.

Towards the end of the day two cadets from Reddish Detachment and Stockport Detachment were interviewed by the Company Commander, Major Pilling and the Company Sergeant Major, SMI Woodward.

Both cadets have continuously showed they follow the Values and Standards of the Army Cadet Force in the duties of a cadet. Demonstrating outside cadets they uphold those same Values and Standards.

Following the interviews both Major Pilling and CSM Woodward agreed that both cadets would make great examples to junior cadets and were both promoted to Cadet Lance Corporal.

Cadet Lance Corporal Stennings from Reddish Detachment and Cadet Lance Corporal Miller from Stockport Detachment.

Well done to them both.

Thank you to SSI Ady Hazelhurst, SI Tony Burns and PI Jasmin Parsons for the pictures when out navigating the area they walked.

Pictures from Day 2 can be found on our County Facebook page.

Please note: All activities are conducted under Army Cadet Covid-19 Guidance.
