Darcy appointed as new Lord Lieutenant’s Cadet

Corporal Darcey Woodman (16), from Nairn Detachment, has been given the honor to assist the Lord Lieutenant of Nairnshire George Asher in his duties as His Majesty The King’s appointed representative by being appointed as the new Lord Lieutenant’s Cadet in a presentation held on Tuesday evening.

Cpl Woodman has been a member of the Army Cadets since March 2019. Over her time with the cadets she has attempted to take part in everything available to a cadet in the ACF. She has taken part in several competitions that cadets can enter, such as shooting and has also represented the Battalion in the ACFA Scotand 5-a-side Football Competition. Darcey has even taken advantage of the overseas opportunities available to cadets, in February this year she went to Bavaria in Germany to complete an Basic Alpine Skiing Course which also counted towards her 2 Star Cadet Syllabus Training.

As the Lord Lieutenant’s Cadet Cpl Woodman will attend events that Lord Lieutenant of Nairnshire attends in his capacity as the Queens Representative to the County of Nairnshire. Darcey received her Certificate of Appointment at the Nairn Detachment Cadet Centre in front of her fellow cadets of Nairn.
