COUNTY SUCCESS IN CHARITY CAMPAIGN FOR VETERANS

Over £6000 raised following pre-Christmas walking challenge

COUNTY SUCCESS IN CHARITY CAMPAIGN FOR VETERANS

20 February 2021

  • Yorkshire (North And West) ACF
Top of the ACF table!

A couple of months ago, in the run-up to Christmas, the County Sports Officer, AUO Cameron Tosh, encouraged all of our members to take part in a fundraising campaign in aid of Walking With The Wounded. The final total is now in, and it's a big one!

Yorkshire (N&W) ACF raised just over £6000, significantly passing the original target of £5000, which was a huge goal in itself. Members from across our County trekked for miles to raise money, and supporters dug deep to make sure their efforts were not in vain... and they succeeded, in a magnificent style! The final total of £6004.02 is the HIGHEST raised by any of the 75 ACF teams nationally, and puts our County in the Top Ten of ALL teams in the UK.

After hearing the news from AUO Tosh, County Commandant Colonel Jim Greenlee was delighted - he described the achievement as 'brilliant' and said, "What an excellent effort! It never ceases to amaze me what everyone in our Organisation pulls out of the hat when required". Deputy Commandant (Training) Lt Col Hugh Gell added,"Congratulations to all Cadets and CFAVs who took part. Well done to everyone."

An excellent achievement by all who participated, either physically or financially (or both!)
