The past few years have been extremely hard for everyone, the Band has not only stayed together, they have grown over Lockdown! They have a 20 strong Cadet Band supported by 6 Adult Volunteers, a fantastic 26 members of the Band!
For the first time since 2018, the Band Cadets put together two concerts for family and friends, showcasing how brilliant these young people are. A good time to relax, have fun and enjoy what the Band does best...... MUSIC.
The youngest Band members are only 12 years old! The Commandant (Colonel Owen Williams) and newly appointed Deputy Commandant (Lieutenant Colonel Andrew Knight) attended the first concert and handed out over 20 awards! A fantastic result. Two promotions, Cadet Harry Ryan and Cadet Freddie Shaw are now appointed Lance Corporals. There were special awards and music passes given out.
The Band for the first year have run the Cadets Cadet Cup. The award is to the young person who they think has gone over and above to help and support them throughout the year. Adult Volunteers are not allowed to vote, this is purely done by the Cadets. This year the winner was Cadet Lance Corporal Robin Lacey. The Band Master Kit Donal was very proud to present the trophy.
