5 cadets made great progress this week at our week long easter camp up in Boddam, progressing on their chosen instrument, passing their various levels on theory and practical for bagpipes, practice chanter, snare drum and tennor drum. Including one of our instructors passing a theory assessment for drumming. The week was capped off with a prize giving parade where 2 of the cadets played in the massed band along with many others from all the battalions in 51 brigade and some from the RAF Air cadets and also the CCF from Northern Ireland.
After the prize giving the band played at the Gordon Highlanders museum in Aberdeen to finish off an amazing week. As a tradition, the last night is always ceilidh night where all cadets get a chance to show off their skills either as individuals or as mini bands. I am glad they all had a good week and super proud of their hard work and progress made.
