The first ever King’s birthday parade, ‘Trooping the Colour’ took place on Saturday afternoon and in attendance was one of our very own Army Cadets, William Smith of Banbridge Detachment, 2nd (Northern Ireland) Battalion Army Cadet Force.
William was one of the very lucky recipients to be awarded two extremely sought after tickets from ACCT UK the Army Cadets Charitable Trust which provided William and his Father with the all expenses paid trip to London including entry to King’s Birthday Parade.
William was delighted to attend the ACCT Excellence Awards, a prestigious ceremony which presented awards recognising noteworthy achievements of both our Cadets and Cadet Force Adult Volunteers from across the UK and said "I am very proud I was given this opportunity by the Army Cadets, it's such a good organisation and everyone should join". Following the ceremony was the Kings Birthday Parade where William and his Father got to witness the first ever birthday parade for King Charles III.
Most definitely the trip of a lifetime and one we're sure they will never forget!
