As promised, our Final Parade...
By now all our Cadets and wonderful Cadet Force Adult Volunteers will be with their loved ones, having successfully completing our 2022 Annual Camp. Without our Adult Volunteers the camp would not have been as great as it was, they worked hard to deliver a packed programme of activities for the Cadets to enjoy.
Final Parade started with a church service to give thanks by our Padre, the music delivered by the Royal County of Berkshire Senior Band for everyone to sing along with.
The Band then headed up the march past and salute to our County Commandant onto the parade ground for the awards and medals that were given out to the Adult Volunteers and Cadets.
This year marks a very special date with our Queen celebrating her platinum year. 25 Adult Volunteers on parade were awarded the Queens Platinum Jubilee Medal who attended camp.
We had sports awards for our senior boys football, the junior boys football who came second in their class and senior and junior athletics.
There were also awards for the most outstanding Cadet on One Star Cadre, Two Star Cadre, Three Star Cadre and most outstanding Norwegian Cadet. Awards for Top Shot Cadet and Adult were given out and the Top Student for our Potential Instructors. Not forgetting the coveted "Bomb" Award for the best Cadre overall which went to the Two Star Cadre. To win this award, they had to be prompt, clean and tidy and to have had the most subject passes. Not forgetting there were 3 lucky Cadets to be promoted on Final Parade due to their outstanding behaviour and demonstrating quality leadership.
Finally two Cadet Force Adult Volunteers were awarded their Long Service Medals. You have had to have served with the Cadet Force for 12 years unbroken service and dedication for the medal, both Adult Volunteers have demonstrated their commitment to the Army Cadets and the Cadets over these past 12 years!
