In the last 12 months, due to COVID restrictions cadets in Greater Manchester Army Cadet Force have not been able to see their cadet friends, meet up in uniform or gain their next star level badges and ranks.

Instructors have used virtual training to help cadets progress. Cadet Sergeant Holloway, from Hyde Detachment used these sessions, not just to help him progress, but also to help his fellow cadets.

During lockdown Cadet Sergeant Holloway completed his Senior Cadet Instructors Cadre (SCIC) over Zoom. Having completed this allows him now to teach younger cadets. He has supported virtual training and has recently attended his first virtual meeting as a new member of the Greater Manchester Youth Combined Authority. All this whilst preparing for his Master Cadet, the highest level of achievement any cadet can complete.

Following his hard work The Commandant of Greater Manchester ACF, Colonel Catherine Harrison has promoted Cadet Sergeant Holloway to Cadet Colour Sergeant. The promotion ceremony conducted on Zoom, whilst the ongoing restrictions apply.

Cadet Colour Sergeant Holloway is a great example of youth in Greater Manchester and a great role model for the Army Cadet Force.
