A very busy weekend at Holcombe Moor Training Centre for our Adult Volunteers.

Safe Person Training & Assessment – This course must be completed by every new adult wishing to volunteer with the Army Cadets. There are lots of subjects to get through in order to complete and be assessed as completing the course. After completing the weekend their training will continue at company and county level before attending the Basic Instructor Development Training and Assessment course.

It’s great to see lots of new adult volunteers being promoted to a Safe Person SI Instructor at the end of the weekend.

Two adults completed the Basic Instructor Training (BIT 3) – This is the final training before attending the Basic Instructor Development Training and Assessment course with the Cadet Training Team. This course is to ensure the competency of the Cadet Force Adult Volunteer to deliver the Army Cadet Syllabus to cadets.

First Aid Training – This is a necessary part of training for all adult volunteers to ensure there is always someone to assist a cadet or another adult should the need arise. It is also a necessary skill to teach this subject as part of the Army Cadet Syllabus (ACS) for the progression of cadets through their different star levels. First Aid allows our cadets the opportunity to learn vital lifesaving skills to enable them to cope in the event of an accident or incident.

Risk Assessment Training took place with the Training Safety Advisor (TSA) WO2 Darrell Jones.
