OC9 pulled another Christmas Camp treat out of the bag this year by continuing the theme of tri service visits begun in 2019 when 9 Company visited the Royal Navy aboard HMS Bristol in Portsmouth! Learning about our sister services is very important and also means that Christmas Camp should be informative and fun.
This year the Company visited RAF Halton in Buckinghamshire to see what the RAF do on one of their stations and to compare it with Army and now Navy camos and bases. The RAF were fantastic hosts laying on some of their version of the ever-popular command tasks. This was facilitated by their exuberant and enthusiastic staff who joined in and helped make the event fun for cadets while also telling them about how things are done in the RAF.
Saturday night saw the return of the traditional 9 Company 'X-Factor' talent competition and saw some great cadets entries as well as the adults joining in, including the OC himself who revealed hidden talents! The end of camp photo was taken in front of the base Tornado aircraft meaning cadets join the ranks of new RAF recruits in being immortalised in front of this famous aircraft!
The OC promises another great Christmas camp in 2022 where the theme will be the Army and will the the Company visit a regiment.....to be announced!
