Who should attend?

• County PR officers responsible for organising public relations events designed to promote the organisation or support recruitment.
• Other personnel who have a PR responsibility, and are likely to be organising events to promote the cadets.
• Senior officers who have a command responsibility for PR and recruiting (see above) and wish to develop and broaden their skills.
NOTE: Applicants for this course must have previously completed the Introduction to Public Relations course.

Course outline

This is a two-day residential workshop, which will focus on effective planning and delivery of events.

The course covers planning for events, attracting media interest, handling VIPs, and practical delivery of an effective occasion. It will culminate in an exercise requiring the creation of an event plan and supporting materials.

Students are encouraged to bring their own laptops.
